I hope everyone had a relaxing and productive Memorial Day Weekend. We’re up to the last two weeks, and we’re getting things set for next year at all of the campuses in Sherman ISD.
Sherman HS Marching Band
Eighth grade band members that are continuing on to marching band should be at the following upcoming rehearsals:
Music rehearsals – May 27, 28, and 29 (Tues, Weds, Thurs) from 3:30 – 5:30 at the Sherman HS Band Hall.
Fish Camp – May 31, June 6, and June 9 from 8:00am – noon at the Sherman HS Band Hall.
Fish Camp is the Freshman marching camp – it will be held outside. Please remember to wear shorts, a comfortable shirt, sneakers, and a hat. Students should bring water in a large bottle/jug as well, as it will be hot and humid.
If you cannot attend one of the days for any reason, you should contact the high school band directors as soon as possible. You can either e-mail them directly (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call (903-891-6495). Please do not tell the Piner directors only – they are not in charge of attendance for high school marching band.
Piner Band Auditions
Seventh grade band members will have their audition results posted on Wednesday (at Dillingham, Piner, and her, on the website).
End of Year Procedures
All instruments need to go home Thursday afternoon – for finals week, we are cleaning the band hall and taking inventory of all of our instruments. If you have a school instrument, you’ll turn it in on Thursday and take all of your personal items out of it. Instruments for summer practice will be checked out that same day.
