Parents and Piner Band members, we’ve arrived! This week, Sym I and Sym II will be going to UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest.

Both bands will be wearing our concert dress, found here.

We encourage students to bring their concert dress to Piner before their contest day. We can store clothing in our storage closet, making sure that no one forgets anything the day of.

Sym II will go to contest on Wednesday, April 9th. The schedule is as follows:

1:20pm – Be released from class to Band Hall to change.
2:00pm – Leave for McKinney Boyd HS
3:00pm – Arrive at McKinney Boyd HS
3:30pm – Enter Warm Up
4:00pm – Perform Concert portion
4:25pm – Perform Sightreading portion
6:00pm – Approximate arrival time back in Sherman

Directors will provide snacks and water, but we will not stop for a meal, as we leave after lunch and arrive before most dinner times.

Sym I will go to contest on Friday, April 11th. The schedule is as follows:

11:00am – Meet in Band Hall to change
11:45am – Leave for Allen, TX for Lunch
12:30pm – Arrive in Allen, TX for Lunch (BRING MONEY!)
1:30pm – Leave for Wylie East HS
2:15pm – Arrive at Wylie East HS
2:55pm – Enter Warm Up
3:30pm – Perform Concert portion
4:00pm – Perform Sightreading portion
6:00pm – Approximate arrival time back in Sherman

Sym I will stop for lunch in Allen, TX. Students need to bring their own money. Options will include In ‘n Out, Raisin’ Cane’s, Whataburger, Taco Bell, Chick Fil A, and others.

Sym II will rehearse today from 3:15pm – 4:15pm as scheduled.

Sym I will not rehearse on Wednesday due to Mr. Anderson traveling with Sym II to contest.
